Childcare Voucher Information for Smart Start Extended Day
Sept. 18, 2020
Parents, if you are already using your childcare voucher at another daycare, you can disregard the following message. If you are NOT currently using your childcare voucher while Extended Day is closed, please review the following important information:
- Your childcare voucher is on pause with an Approved Break in Care for 180 days from the Department of Early Education and Childcare (EEC). The dates for the Approved Break in Care are July 1, 2020 - December 28, 2020.
- If your child is not enrolled in daycare by December 28th, your childcare voucher will be terminated, and you will have to return to the statewide waitlist for a childcare voucher.
- Your childcare voucher can be transferred to any daycare of your choice that accepts childcare vouchers. If you need assistance in finding a new daycare location, please call PACE Childcare Works at (508) 999-9930.
- If your childcare voucher is expiring before December 28th, you must be enrolled at a new daycare before it can be renewed. You should call PACE Childcare Works to set up a renewal appointment. PACE is setting up virtual appointments.
- In closing, we are not certain at this time when the Extended Day Program will re-open. The program will remain closed during the Brockton Public Schools’ Remote Learning period.
Please contact Melissa Shepard, Extended Day Coordinator, in the Community Schools Office at (508) 894-4257, if you have questions about the Approved Break in Care dates, your voucher expiration date, and/or any general childcare voucher questions.
Thank you!
