Welcome to the Brockton Adult Learning Center. If you never finished high school and want to improve your literacy skills, to prepare for your High School Equivalancy Test, or to improve your English language skills, the Adult Learning Center may be just the program for you. We help Brockton area adults master skills for employment, lifelong learning, and everyday life.
The Brockton Adult Learning Center is a comprehensive adult basic education program designed to help adults improve their reading, writing, speaking, listening, math, and problem-solving skills. We are a diverse community of learners with different goals and experiences, but a learning community that shares the belief that learning and education are the keys to better lives and futures.

School Closings & Delayed Openings
The Adult Learning Center follows the Brockton Public Schools Calendar. Whenever there is no school in Brockton, the ALC is also closed.
School closing and delayed opening announcements are made locally by AM radio WXBR 1460, by Boston AM radio WBZ 1030, by Boston television channels 4, 5 and 7 and posted on the Brockton Public Schools website and the Brockton Community Schools website. Weather-related early dismissal announcements are made by WXBR AM 1460 and posted on the Brockton Public Schools website and the Brockton Community Schools website.
